What is a Certificate of Occupancy, and how do I get one?

A Certificate of Occupancy, or C of O, is issued by the building inspector once all inspections are "finaled", or successfully completed, and denotes that the work was done in accordance with applicable building codes. The C of O is required before anyone can occupy a new building, and by most mortgage lenders for loan processing. Be sure to apply for all permits at the Permit office at 119 S Roselawn STE 303.
