Get into the spooky spirit with the Artesia Public Library's pumpkin decorating contest!
Anyone interested in the contest can join by decorating a pumpkin to make it look like your favorite book character and then filling out the entry form at the library. The public will be able to vote on their favorites in each of the different age categories. The winners will be announced on Halloween.
The guidelines for the contest are as follows:
- Paint or decorate your pumpkin to look like your favorite book character.
- Do not carve or puncture the pumpkin in any way. Carving is only accepted on styrofoam pumpkins.
- Bring your pumpkin to the library on or after October 13th.
- No vulgarity of any kind permitted - this is a family contest.
- No food or liquid.
- No candles or electrical devices, including battery operated.
- Fill out the entire contest entry form. Incomplete forms will not be accepted.
- Staff reserve the right to reject any artwork that does not follow these guidelines.
- Limit of two entries per person or family.
