Library Children's Program -- Exploring Color, Mood, and Music by the Ocotillo

Thursday, June 28, 2018

Letting students explore the relationship between color and mood by painting to music. Students respond naturally to colors and sounds. Giving students the materials to make their own connections between the two is a fun way to create without the pressure of representational drawing. After listening to samples of music students will pick colors to create paintings based on mood of the music samples. After students will be asked to write a paragraph explaining what different colors represent to them in terms of mood and energy, and how they can use music to give them creative inspiration for the future.
