If a property has graffiti, municipal code requires the property owner to remove or abate it within 3 business days of the placement of the graffiti. If the graffiti is not abated as required by notice from the city, the city is authorized to enter the property for abatement. If the graffiti contains or depicts an obscenity, the 3 day notice is not required and the city is authorized to immediately enter the property for abatement.

The city has enacted the graffiti ordinance in an effort to combat the spread of this deplorable practice. The most effective way to halt the spread of graffiti is to immediately remove or abate it. Your cooperation will go a long way towards keeping our neighborhoods graffiti-free.
